Read your Cashflow
See what happened, compare it with your plan, and know what to do next in Moolah on Web, iOS or Android.
- 1
Choose one month
Open Cashflow and switch to Timeline if you’re in the monthly summary. Use the date control to choose a year, then find the month’s column.
- 2
Compare tracking with planning
Open the view control and choose Comparing tracking vs planning. Tracking shows what happened. Planning shows what you expected.
Check that your latest bank transactions have arrived before comparing.
- 3
Look closer, then decide
The control now says Tracking vs plan. Compare the amounts in the same month’s column and find the category that explains the difference.
If it was a one-off, your usual plan may still fit. If it is your new normal, update the recurring item. Changing a plan keeps your real transactions intact.
You’re done when you understand the difference and know your next step.
Something doesn’t look right?
Check that your latest bank transactions have arrived before comparing them with your plan. Review any unexpected transaction’s amount, date and category.
Transfers between your own accounts are not ordinary income or spending. Investment growth changes a valuation rather than recording cashflow. Refunds keep their real date and source.
